Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 1 September 2026

This page sets out what you may and may not do with LooksFormula. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Most of it is common sense; two rules are serious enough that we want them stated plainly rather than buried in a list.

1. The short version

Upload photos of yourself, use your report however you like personally, and do not attack or resell the service. If you are doing something you would not want to explain to us, it is probably not allowed.

2. Photographs of other people

Only upload photographs of yourself. Not your friends, not your children, not your clients, not a celebrity, not a face you found online.

This is the most important rule here, and it is not about copyright. Producing your report involves measuring the geometry of the face in the photograph. Several jurisdictions - Illinois, Texas and Washington among them - give the person in that photograph specific legal rights over those measurements, and require their consent before the measurements are taken. You cannot give that consent on someone else's behalf.

If you upload someone else's face, you are exposing that person to processing they never agreed to, and exposing yourself to the consequences. We will close accounts that do it.

3. Illegal content

Do not upload anything unlawful. In particular, do not upload sexual imagery of minors. We report this to the authorities; we do not simply delete it and move on. There is no warning and no appeal for this.

4. Using your report

You may:

  • Read it, save it, print it, and keep it as long as you like.
  • Take it shopping, show it to your hairdresser or your stylist.
  • Share it with friends, or post parts of it on social media if you want to.

You may not:

  • Sell it, or sell access to it.
  • Use it as the raw material for a colour-analysis service of your own - whether that is running reports for paying clients or repackaging our recommendations as your own.
  • Present the generated images as photographs of a real result, yours or anyone's.

5. The service itself

Do not:

  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site.
  • Attempt to break in, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other people's accounts.
  • Work around payment, credit limits or rate limits, or use several accounts to get repeated introductory pricing.
  • Overload the service deliberately, or automate submissions.
  • Reverse-engineer the system, or use our outputs to train or evaluate a competing model.
  • Copy the site's text, design or report structure for a competing product.

6. Being decent

If you contact us, please be civil. We will help you gladly, including when you are frustrated and something has gone wrong. We will not continue a conversation that becomes abusive towards the people answering it.

7. Reporting a problem

If you believe someone has uploaded a photograph of you without permission, or you have found content that breaks these rules, email admin@looksformula.com. Tell us what you saw and where. We take photographs-of-others reports seriously and act on them quickly.

8. What happens if you break these rules

Depending on what happened, we may:

  • Ask you to stop.
  • Remove the content.
  • Suspend your account while we look into it.
  • Close your account permanently.
  • Report the matter to the authorities, where the law requires it.

We try to match the response to what actually happened - an honest mistake is not treated like deliberate abuse. If we close your account for anything other than fraud or illegal content, we will refund your unused credits.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the service grows or as new problems appear. Material changes will be announced by email.
