Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and LooksFormula. By creating an account or buying a report you accept them. We have kept them short and readable; where something matters, it is written plainly rather than buried.

1. Who we are

LooksFormula.com is operated from 4 Tai Cres, Hobsonville, Auckland, New Zealand. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean LooksFormula; "you" means the person using the service.

2. Who can use LooksFormula

You must be 18 or older to use this service. It is not designed for children and we do not knowingly accept their photographs or their money.

You may not use LooksFormula if we have previously closed your account, or if the law where you live prohibits it.

3. Your account

  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Give us a real email address - it is how we send your reports and your receipts.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • One account per person. Creating extra accounts to reuse introductory pricing is not allowed.

4. The photos you upload

By uploading a photo you confirm that:

  • It is a photo of you. Do not upload photographs of anyone else - not friends, not family, not public figures. Our analysis measures facial features, and the laws that govern that protect the person in the picture. You cannot give us permission on somebody else's behalf.
  • You own the photo or have the right to use it.
  • It does not contain anything unlawful, and no one else's face is the subject of it.

You keep ownership of your photos. You give us permission to store and process them only to produce your report, and that permission ends when the photos are deleted - within 24 hours of your report being ready. What we do with them in the meantime is set out in the Privacy Policy.

We do not use your photos to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and we do not use them in marketing without asking you first.

5. Buying reports and credits

  • Prices are shown in US dollars and include any applicable tax unless stated otherwise.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • You can buy a single report, or buy credits and spend them on any service on the site.
  • Credits expire 12 months after purchase, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred between accounts.
  • Your report is generated as soon as payment succeeds - usually within minutes.
  • Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.

We may change prices at any time. The price that applies to you is the one shown when you pay.

6. What the report is, and what it is not

Your report is a styling opinion produced by AI, based on the photos and details you gave us. It is intended to be useful and to be enjoyed. It is not:

  • Medical, dermatological or psychological advice.
  • A promise about how you will look, or how others will react to you.
  • A guarantee that any product, colour or hairstyle will suit you in real life.

The images in your report are generated, not photographs. Where a report shows you in a different colour, outfit or hairstyle, that image was created by an AI model to illustrate the recommendation. It is not a photograph of a real result and should not be read as a prediction of one.

Colour analysis is a considered judgement, not a measurement with one correct answer. Two analysts can reach different conclusions about the same person. If your report says something unexpected, that is worth reading rather than assuming it is a fault - but if you think it is genuinely wrong, tell us and we will look at it.

7. How you may not use LooksFormula

Full detail is in the Acceptable Use Policy. In short, do not:

  • Upload photographs of other people.
  • Upload anything illegal, or anything sexual involving minors - we report this.
  • Resell, republish or redistribute reports as your own product or service.
  • Scrape the site, attack it, or try to work around payment or rate limits.
  • Use the service to build or train a competing model.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we will refund any unused credits when we do, unless the breach was fraudulent.

8. Who owns what

  • Your photos stay yours.
  • Your report is yours to use personally - read it, print it, take it shopping, show it to your hairdresser. You may not sell it, or offer analysis to other people using it as your source material.
  • The site, its design, its text and the system that produces reports are ours and stay ours.

9. Liability

We provide LooksFormula with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for decisions you make on the strength of a report - including money you spend on clothes, cosmetics or hairdressing.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited. If you are a consumer in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies; in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law; in the EU, EEA or UK, your statutory consumer rights. Those come first, and this section does not reduce them.

10. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service. If we discontinue something you have paid for and not yet received, we will refund it. We may take the site down for maintenance and will try to do that quietly and briefly.

11. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing us; we will delete your reports and personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. Unspent credits are not refundable on voluntary closure unless you are within the 14-day window in the Refund Policy.

We may close your account if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we close it for any reason other than a serious breach by you, we will refund your unused credits.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one published on the day you paid. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country, or of the right to bring proceedings there.

If something goes wrong, email us first. Nearly everything is resolved that way, and faster.
